FATTORIA DI CALAPPIANO
Collegonzi Vigna la Sughera
Chianti DOCG Riserva
Collegonzi Vigna La Sughera originates in the Montalbano region, specifically in the Collegonzi area, from a single, particularly well-suited vineyard, Vigna La Sughera, which represents the pinnacle of the terroir. The estate's cru is produced from the selection of the best grapes from this Calappiano vineyard, situated on a hillside with a southeast exposure. The soil is loose and deep, rich in marine fossils, limestone, and fragments. Alcoholic fermentation lasts for 15 days at a controlled temperature, utilizing pump-over and delestage techniques, followed by maceration. Malolactic fermentation occurs in wood containers, and the wine is aged for 14 months in large oak barrels. With a clear and bright ruby color, on the nose it opens with an elegant bouquet of crisp red berries, fine spices, light smoky sensations, and floral notes. On the palate, it is both rich and agile, fresh, juicy, and savory, with a long persistence of spices, red fruits, and subtle smoky notes.
